How can I add animated overlays to videos

How can I add animated overlays to videos
I've been editing some sports highlight videos and I would like to add an animated circle to show the player that I am highlighting. Where can I find animated overlays to put on my videos that aren't opaque, and how can i add them to my editing tools for Corel Video Studio 2019? Thanks!

Maybe this training video is what you are looking for. A animated circle starts around 6 minutes. Although done in an older version of Video Studio, the principle remains the same.

not quite sure what you mean by 'animated' -- if you just want a circle which follows the person then the function you need is "Track Motion" will get you a result like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBTnYlPf5AM
the tracker can be almost any symbol you like but you may have to do a little work to make special ones

I was thinking something more along the lines of the spinning circles that you see surrounding players in the video that I have linked below. Is there anywhere that I can get animated effects like these that I can just overlay on my video? I don't need the effect to track, because I'm going to freeze the frame.

Re: How can I add animated overlays to videos
Hi
Makes it easier that the circle highlights are applied to a still image
You need a circle image PNG with a transparent background
Add to the overlay track and apply Customise Motion to make the circle spin
I have created a smart package, originally with 2020 but then realised you are using 2019.
I then recreated the project using 2018, this will open with 2019 and 2020
The circle images used were taken from 2020 media / graphics library

Re: How can I add animated overlays to videos
Thanks everyone for helping me. Trevor, I appreciate the circle image that you attached and the tip about applying customise motion. I was unaware of that feature. Is there a 2019 media/graphics library that I can download from Corel? I haven't gotten up the courage to try this yet. I'm certain that I will have more questions later.

Re: How can I add animated overlays to videos
Hi Katrice
Video Studio has a Graphics Library section, select the flower icon on the vertical icon menu between the screen and library.
Unfortunately, 2019 does not appear to have a simple circle.
You should be able to create your own circle using an image editor, save as PNG should retain the transparency.
There are other Free graphics to download from the Welcome screen – Get More – look for the Graphics pack
Once installed provides 140 clips, Backgrounds, Colour Pattern, Frames and Objects, but again no simple circle
To install the Graphics Pack first download which should auto install however that only provides .exe files in a folder on our desktop.
Each .exe now needs running to install, the files being saved here, they will then show in the library.

Corel could make the process a little easier.
