If I buy a script from Corel, is it protected from editing or copying ?

No they aren't protected...technically.

There is no mechanism for protecting them, they are just regular text files. PSP actually reads your script in as a text object and runs that through its Python interpreter so it can't directly run compiled byte-code. The script it runs must be a text script.

Corel might install them in their Program Files folder which prevents editing because Windows prevents editing files in that location without express admin privileges. But technically the only thing protecting Corel's scripts is copyright.
