Record at 4K for 1080

Post by jparnold »

Might sound a silly question but if I want to mix video from different sources (cameras) and one is able to record at 4K and the other one at 1080p (and I render to 1080) is it better to record from the 4K camera at 4K and allow the rendering to 'down size' to 1080 or set the 4K camera to record at 1080? Just wondering if there could be any losses when converting 4K down to 1080?
Thanks
John

You should experiment with short clips of both, seeing how the final result looks.
You might notice more "detail" in the 4K clip than the 1080 in the finished Share.
