Paintshop pro 2020 ultimate - when / why use each program

Post by kebaldwin »

Hi. I take photographs. New to Paintshop pro. Got the ultimate edition that comes with GRFX studio (but I think I have to pay more for it?), Parallels toolbox, PhotoMirage, Painter Essentials, After Shot,

Problem is - I don't understand what each is used for? Is there a suggested workflow? For example, is GRFX just filters? So you would do most editing and such in Paintshop - then go to GRFX for the final filters? Why/when to use PhotoMirage and After shot?

Trying to figure out a workflow. For example - if I shoot a landscape picture - then I use program 1 (to do?), then program 2 (to do?) then program 3 (to do?)

Thanks

All of the programs are just extras you get with the ultimate bundle. There is no suggested workflow persay. AfterShot is kind of like Corel's answer to Lightroom. It's an entire management and simple non-destructive editor for images and RAW files. Then if you need stronger edits you can export to PaintShop Pro. Or you can start in paint shop pro and use it's photo manager and RAW file importer. They can work together but it's not strictly necessary to do so.
PhotoMirage is just a fun bit of software to create motion effects that you can export for various purposes but you wouldn't use it to edit anything. GRFX is indeed essentially just filters. You can use it anyway you like. Or you can just dump all of those and never use any of them.
