Most of the problems is that people simply don't understand what version of windows and other software updates can cause plugins to not work. If your friend is using a plugin and you can't simply ask what version of windows and what version of Paintshop pro and what version of dll and other software installed on their PC. It only takes one software to be different and that can cause all the problems., not Painthsop pro.
Why does it have to be the Windows 10 version ?? I have the X9, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 on my PC. And in everything my filters work for 100% and then there are more than 200. And in my 2021 so far only 5 with Unlimited where there are a lot of them. So which windows version have you to make everything work in the 2021 while the other versions work perfectly.
what everyone is assuming why plugins work in one version and not the next. Lots of plugins are written for older parts of paintshop pro and photoshop. When paintshop pro and photoshop redesign things the plugin does not work. Easy to describe if you have light fitting twist in then they dresign a new fitting screw in you would then not be able to use your old light without adapting it. That's what i think has happened in this case. Some plugins will work cause they do not require parts of the program that have changed. If you have a plugin made in the 90s it might target something which is present in photoshop and paintshop pro versions up until now, but due to this new version stop working.
Thanks. Found that, but that's the 64-bit trial only. I just would like to install the 32-bit on my old laptop.
The install file of the Ultimate version I bought, will only install on 64-bit systems, so won't allow me to choose the 32-bit PSP version.
Never mind.
The Trial versions, at least lately, have all been only 64bit without the 32bit option. Makes it impossible for people to test whether or not their 32bit plugins will work. You're basically forced to purchase the full version to test the 32bit and then claim a refund within 30 days if not satisfied.

I also read elsewhere that is the case but can't find that web page now.
As mentioned the trial is only the 64 bit version according to download page.
And as stated at Corel they are not making PaintShop Pro 2021 for 32 bit OS.

Yet when we install the full version of PSP 2021 -- not the trial -- it does in fact offer to install both 64 and 32 bit versions, with both being recommended. But it could mean there is no separate 32 bit versions aimed only at 32 bit operating system computers...

That last bit is totally clear to me.
What I am looking for is a 32-bit PSP trial version. They used to be available and will save you having to buy it, test it and return it if too many filters are not working
When installing a trial version you will receive the version that matches your operating system. When you purchase the product you have the option to install both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the software.
This has come up during previous releases and we have complained that by only providing the 64-bit software version that matches the operating system, users who want to test the 32-bit version for plug-in compatibility are out of luck.

Correct Ken.
That is what Corel states.
They provide both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of PSP 2021 for 64 bit OS's but they are not making a version for 32 bit OS's.
I have used PSP for decades (since JASC version 3!), steadily upgarding through many of the versions, and currently run PSP 2020 Ultimate. When the discounted upgrade to PSP2021 Ultimate appeared I thought I would take a closer look.
I am particularly interested in the AI Upsampling facility because just recently I trialled a demo version of PhotoZoom Pro 8.0.6 (it is impressive!). I thought that if the PSP 2021 AI Upsampling was half decent, an upgrade from my current PSP 2020 would be cheaper than buying PhotoZoom.
Unfortunately, in the trial of PSP 2021 I just cannot get the AI Upsampling to work as advertised, despite having perused the User Guide. In a simple test I tried to upsample, by 200% in size, a reasonably detailed 1920x1080 pixel, 5.98 Mb TIFF photo. PSP 2021 works away at it for several seconds and then presents me with a mystifying result. I don't get my original photo upscaled, but instead I get a larger 3840x2160 pixel image that is largely a black background with my original photo, at it's original scale i.e. not enlarged in any way, placed in the upper left corner. In other words, imagine this new image divided into quarters - my original photo occupies the top left quadrant, and all the other three quadrants are just black background. I have also tried different image formats, in case it was an issue with the TIFF format, but I still get the same result each time.
So, whilst PSP 2021 has created an image that is 200% larger than my original photograph, it has most certainly not done any upscaling, at all! I cannot see a setting to correct this result. All it is effectively doing is something akin to a Canvas Size enlargement in the Image menu. I freely admit to being an amateur user of PSP but I consider myself a competent user of the major functions - as mentioned above, I have been using PSP for many, many years.
There are a couple of other little display issues I also have, concerning menu text in the PSP 2021 intefaces, but the inability to get a proper result from AI upsampling is the major one. Anyone else experiencing this? Have I really missed a setting somewhere? Is this a problem with the PSP 2021 trial? I have skimmed through the thread and not seen this issue mentioned by anyone else ... yet.
My laptop specs:
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
CPU: Intel Core i7 4700MQ @ 2.40GHz
RAM: 24.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz
Motherboard: Notebook W35xSTQ_370ST
Graphics: LCD 1920x1080@60Hz/ Intel HD Graphics 4600/ 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M

My experience is that is is a bit dependent on what photo you try to upsample.
I tried it with a photo (standard with a couple PSP Ultimate versions) with a vulcano on it and that didn't move a micro-inch
I assume that that photo has been edited before it was put in the Ultimate package.
I am now trying to upsample a photo I took a few days ago. Seems to take a long, long, time.
