Still images distorted

Post by kerrya »

I'm trying to drop still images on my overlay1 track.

My project size is 1920x1080 but my still images are portrait (vertical) composition. VS then distorts the image to fit the project, even though I have gone into settings/preferences/edit and turned the fit to project size option to keep aspect ratio.

I can't see to find a way get my still images to display without distortion.

VideoStudio 2020 Ultimate
Windows 10

Any help appreciated.

Hi Kerry
And welcome to the forums

From Preferences (F6) Edit tab, make sure Use Fit To screen is deselected otherwise the portraits will fill the screen, people will look as though they have put on a pound or two.
Then Image Resampling as default setting “Keep aspect Ratio”

From the timelines.
Drag an image to the overlay track or right click from library for Insert to Overlay track
The image will show in proportion but as a smaller view.
Right click the image within the preview screen for Fit to Height, the image should be in proportion.

If you have multiple images, right click the first image for Copy Attributes
Shift + A to select all, right click selection to Paste Attributes, all images should display ok.

If you have added an image that will not change size, right click from preview screen for Original size followed by Fit to Height
