I am an admin for a PSP graphics board and a number of our members are experiencing a problem with the Layer Styles bevel leaving black lines on their images. This does not occur with other Layer Style options.
This seems to be experienced by users with PSP2020 version 22.2.0.8 and it also affects their PSP2018 and PSP2019. Users with earlier versions of PSP2020 don't get these lines.
Has anyone else experienced this or have suggestions?
But I'm not sure how they made the frame. I quickly did that test with a rectangle shape, without fill, and a thick stroke filled with the pattern you showed.
I've tried it on two different PC's, both Windows 10, from PSP X8 Ultimate through PSP 2020 Ultimate, and it happens on all. Maybe it's just related to Windows 10?
No Black lines here.
1. New document - white background
2. New layer transparent
3. Selection tool rectangle and select interior of transparent layer leaving desired thickness.
4. Invert Selection
5. Fill with pattern. Selections > Select None
6. Double click layer and apply Bevel . I used settings size 51 and Opacity 21.
Result below.

That is strange ,
I repeated my steps above and then had some black lines.
then I started again and no lines. Seems almost to be a random set of events.
To make it easier to do tests I started the document and then saved the steps 2-5 as a script.
Now getting a lot of no lines and looking for my next black line as I apply different bevels.
Also wondering about the effect of antialias when doing the selection.

So does that mean you got the black lines when using anti-alias with the selection and no black lines when you didn't? Vice versa? A bit more detail, please.
As I said I was wondering about ant aliasing during the selection process. Still behaving strangly but possibly less black lines with anti aliasing off. Easy enough for others to test from the procedures and steps I have mentioned above. Try it with and without ant aliasing. I have done probably 20 tests but did not record the % of successes . Perhaps if more can do and give their results we may be able to see if antialiasing has an effect. Say 10 eith antialiasing on and 10 with it off, closing the program in between sets

Sorry I'm late replying... I've been a bit busy. All I did to get this to happen was to create a simple image, add a frame, and then change the layer properties to add a bevel:
I asked your exact steps but you didn't give them.
After many time lost to reproduce without luck your defect (different image size, with or without layer, changing resolution, changing background, etc.), I suddenly supposed you worked with the 32bit version and not the 64bit as I did.
In the 32bit version, black lines are visible!
They are not in the 64bit version.

No worry. The most important thing is that the bug is now confirmed.
I will do a bug report to Corel.
By chance, you have a workaround: working with the 64bit version to bypass the defect.
