Hi isley88
First can you tell us which version of Video Studio you are using, your profile does not indicate the version
I would suspect that there has been a mix up between 16:9 and 4:3, difficult to say where that started?
With the original project open in the timelines can you tell us what the Project Properties show
Alt + Enter or Settings Project Properties, a screen shot attached to your post could be useful.
I would expect these to be Project Format = DVD
Also from the timelines right click a video clip and choose properties, what are they?
When we burn a DVD disc we have two options,
1 / burn the disc from the timeline will require the program to convert the project prior to burning using Convert Title
2 / We can convert / render the project to a DVD Mpeg2 compliant file, then using that to burn the disc, I would recommend using this process.
also
From the burner module you should first Create a Disc Image rather than burn a disc, this will save an ISO to your hard drive, we can play that using VLC Media Player to check quality and if ok can burn the ISO to disc. A much safer way to burn a disc and avoids those coasters.
Some details on burning discs includes for DVD and Bluray.

Re: when playing dvd video is cropped pls help
This is what I do to burn a disc
1 / edit the project ( your 2nd image) then render to Mpeg2 ( Share Mpeg2 )
2 / From your project, the second image , Start a new project to clear the timelines, Project Properties will be the same 720 x 480
3 / Share – Disc – DVD, opens the burner module, no clips on the timeline
4 / top left icon to Add Video Files – choosing the Mpeg2 chi.mpg
5 / view lower left to make sure 16:9 is showing
6 / next to select and create a menu.
7 / next- takes us to the last burner page, deselect Create to Disc choosing Create Disc Image, if you do not see this option click the arrows / chevrons far right to expand the options.
8 / when I hit Burn I get a warning “this action will take some time”, I select OK
The process now starts with Convert Menu, does it do that for you, it should start with Convert Menu
If you see Convert Title then some settings are wrong.
9 / An iso file will be saved to the hard drive, I can play that using VLC Media Player to check quality and aspect ratio.
10 / from Video Studio – Tools – Durn from Disc Image (ISO) will burn the file to disc
I note your video is short so the process to create the ISO will be quick.
If the ISO plays ok on the pc then the disc should play ok on the TV

Hi isley88
By creating an ISO you can avoid using a DVD so you do not run out.
The ISO contains the same files as a DVD with the benefit of being able to test / play the iso, and if it plays ok we can then burn the ISO to disc knowing it will be good. No more ruined discs, no more coasters, hopefully.
