PSP 2019 Ult Will not fully open

Strange Problem which only started to happen a few days ago.

PSP 2019 Ult Launches o/k to welcome screen. If I then go to 'Edit' I get the attached screen shot and the programme just hangs there. I have waited over 5 minutes and nothing happens.

On selecting 'Edit' the navigation sector briefly flashes with the normal list showing but then goes off. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the programme to no avail.

I need to go to Task Manager to close.

Any suggestions?

Hi John,

I don't have PSP 2019 but have you tried to reset it to its factory defaults? It seems to solve many issues, and is often suggested in the forum.

You can do that by holding down Shift when launching PSP. You will lose any customization you may have done (so maybe save your Workspace first, then apply the reset).

Thanks for the reply.

I didn't think this would work, as I have just re-installed PSP 2019 and not added any preferences or changes. The new installation had the same problem.

However, it did work !!

Holding down the shift key on startup did the trick.

Sadly, second time of opening, back to square 1. It seems that I need to hold down the shift key each time I load the programme. Not a problem but it does take 2 or 3 minutes to load.

When PSP opens as expected after the shift key down, save the workspace. Next time you open PSP (without the shift key down) the correct workspace will be loaded.
