Text/Object effect - how ?

Post by Wykkyd »

Hi - I am a long time PSP user (back in the Jasc days is when I started with PSP). I used Jasc PSP 9 up until just recently when I decided to go ahead and take the plunge into 2020. In my defense, I had to quit my work (which I used PSP for) due to medical issues so I wasn't actively using it except for a here and there edit or project I'd do. I'm still not well, but I use PSP daily now doing stuff I want to do.

That brings me to my question... When I had 9, I had plugins Eye Candy 4000 and some others. EC4k had effects that I used a lot called Corona (ironic huh?) chrome as well as a much better drop shadow tool than the standard PSP drop shadow. I tried to get EC4k to work for me with 2020 but it just doesnt work. Is there a way to get that corona effect in 2020 or are there plugins that can achieve that? No one makes plugins for PSP anymore, they're all for PS ( )

I have tried to use the layer properties to add an outer glow and messing with the drop shadow to try to get the same effect that EC4k gave, but it's just not what I'm going for. Is there some way to get my old EC4k to work in 2020 or a newer plugin offering the same kind of effects that I'm looking for?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, those plugins are most probably 32-bit ones. Have you tried to use them with the 32-bit version of PSP 2020? During installation of PSP 2020 you get the option to install 32-bit version too (I think it is the default option).

EDIT: Btw, most Photoshop plugins work with PSP too.

I did not even think about that. (DUH! I feel stupid) I will try that and see if I can get it working. I know that there are a couple ,dll files that Windows 10 does not have that are needed (one of them being plugin.dll) so is there anything special I need to do to get PS plugins and EC4k to work?

Thanks so much!!
