I did the usual background erase with an image successfully. Then I copied this image and pasted it as a layer onto my background. I am having a little problem. When I merge all layers and save as JPG file, the square outline (the one to resize, rotate, etc.) shows on the finished saved file. I have looked through all the settings but the line is still there. Is there a way to get rid of this line?
Please see the image below with the red arrows I added to point to this line I want to get rid of.

Thank you very much in advance! This is Paint Shop Pro 2020.

Re: Background Erase and Layer Pasting
Hello, welcome to the forum!
Without seeing the initial images I cannot be sure, but my 1st guess is that you missed erasing those edges in the first place.
Before merging the layers, make a very rough selection around the subject you brought in as a new layer (make sure your selection resides within those unwanted edges).
Then invert the selection (Selections -> Invert) and hit the Delete key on your keyboard (or Edit -> Clear).
If those edges were indeed leftovers, this should get rid of them.

The edges you see weren't missed, they are part of the selection square which allows you to move the image, resize it, and rotate it, etc. The invert suggestion doesn't remove that edge.
I can see why this edge needs to be there when adjusting the image before flattening the entire thing, but after flattening, these adjusting edges should disapear as was the case with an older version of PSP.

Re: Background Erase and Layer Pasting
I think this may happen if you made your initial selection with Feather non zero or/and Anti-alias checked.
If you want to rectify the border of your selection (removing the problematic border):
I suppose your selection is inside a layer in your pspimage.
1. Select the selection.
2. Go to Selections/Modify/Contract.
3. Remove a few pixels (Number of pixels).
4. OK.

The feather feature was causing it just like you said. I copy/pasted the image without using feather and the line wasn't there anymore!
I also tried the "contract" feature with the feather and it did remove the edge as well just as described.
Thank you again for your help! Now I can get back to creating art!
