First, SVCDs are one of the trickiest to get to play back on stand-alone DVD players. Does your player actually say it will play back SVCDs?? A lot of the more expensive brand-name players will either refuse to see an SVCD put into them or else play them erratically, stopping, stuttering or, as with yours, going back to the beginning.

Second, it is not clear from what you have posted exactly what properties your video file had or what procedure you used to burn it to disc. Did you first produce an SVCD-compatible MPEG-2 file and only then burn that to disc, or did you go from your timeline/project directly to the burn stage?

I also should ask if you burned the SVCD to a CD blank or a DVD blank, since we had someone here the other day who was using DVD blanks... As for burning your SVCD in 'DVD mode', do you mean that your used a CD blank but set the program to produce a DVD? If that was the case, then you have to be aware that the end result will play on only a handful of players...

As for the 'Convert step got some problems', I don't know the answer to that one, but there is another thread on this just a few messages away from your own, if you haven't already found it by reading today's messages on this Board.

Finally, I should note that if you were in fact burning to DVD blanks, then another cause of your problem could be that your projects were too short. DVDs require a minimum length -- I can't recall the figure but I think it is around the 500 MB level. Programs like Video Studio have a button in the burning stage to allow it to 'pad' the files it is burning to get above this limit.

As a footnote, can I suggest that in future posts you don't type everything in CAPITAL letters as, in computer conversations, that is regarded as being equivalent to SCREAMING. I also personally find it harder to read or at least concentrate on... Thanks in advance.
