Hi, I have created a project using CVS 2020, but I wanted to open it in CVS 2019. It's not wanting to open, previous version I have never had an issue. But now this don't work, is there something I can do to correct this?
Thanks

Re: Opening a project in another version of CVS
Hi newfielander
Unfortunately not, we are no longer able to open project files made with 2020 in earlier versions of video studio.
The options from File – Save As – Save as Type no longer shows an earlier version.
We do not really understand why Corel have taken this approach with 2020, mystified is how I feel
and no we do not have a workround or a way to open the projects other than in 2020
I would urge you to contact Corel Support for their thoughts on this matter, mind you they will probably advise that you re-install the program.

Re: Opening a project in another version of CVS
For quite a while now, you couldn't open a VSP created in a more recent version of VS in an older version of VS, e.g. a VSP created in VS2018 couldn't be opened in X10. However, what you could do was save a VSP in an older VSP format, e.g. in VS2018, you could save a VS2018 VSP as a X10 compatible VSP. VS2020 breaks this paradigm. Hence if you create a VSP in VS2020, there's no going back which can be a big problem.newfielander wrote:It's not wanting to open, previous version I have never had an issue.

I guess it's mainly due to the useless 50 tracks and other differences.

Re: Opening a project in another version of CVS
When exporting to an older format, VS2019 simply drops incompatible features, e.g. Mercalli 4 is dropped when saving as a VS2018 VSP. Hence Corel could probably provide a similar export capability in VS2020 but ...asik1 wrote:I guess it's mainly due to the useless 50 tracks and other differences.
