I run PSP 2020 on two computers and both have a hard time working with a 10Mb grey-scale image (5.3mpx) that has one base layer and one grouped layer consisting of a copy of the base layer and a mask. The file is imported from a 16bit TIFF and stored as a .pspimage.
In below description I have to guess the English terms as I am using the Dutch GUI.
In the image I make a round selection based on a circular feature in the image. This circular selection has a diameter of approximately 1300px. I apply an inside feather [like ctrl-H, but then only inside] of 3px to it and use that selection to create the mask (inside white, reverse selection, outside black).
When done and I scroll through the layers palette [F8] PSP crashes with:
When I create the same selection and mask without using the feather-option all goes well.Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Core... R6025 - Pure virtual function call.
Both machines are Dells and brand new, both run on Windows 10 64bit. One is a workstation, the other my laptop. Both have 500Gb hard drive, 16GB RAM. I tried solving this issue with:
- reinstalling C++;
- reinstalling PSP;
- updating video drivers (NVIDIA and Intel UHD Graphics 630).
I searched this forum, but did not find a proper solution, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. As described above the issue is related to the feather function [CTRL-H] and can be reproduced on two machines.
thanks,
Nicolàs
