Particle Illusion was a Wondertouch product, I have had version 3 since Oct 2007, a very expensive program at the time, now Boris provide it free, can highly recommend this program

asik --- beat you by around 12 hours, but I deliberately posted in the Video and DVD Forum as the product did not relate directly to VS.

Unfortunately there is no Particle Illusion plug-in for VS. In any event, if you want a quick overview of what Particle Illusion does, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilUUHOkGc1o

But to purchase the plugin version will cost you US$295 assuming you have Adobe,Avid, Apple Final Cut Pro, Blackmagic, Vegas pro

Using as a standalone is no problem, just create and render, then import into VS

Hi,
Please be aware that the free standalone version does not allow the use of a background image or video. You can export the particles you create in ProRes 4444 but I don't believe that this is a format that Videostudio supports. If you can convert that to a series of image files with alpha channel, you could then import it into Videostudio and composite it using one of the blend modes.

Will try a reinstall later, problem is when hovering over a tab, the dialog box opens, but as soon as you move down to select a category, the dialog box disappears.

As VS has no particels engine at all, this is just another tool in the video toolbox
I also found Ver3.0 from 2003 on one of my disk, also stand alone and needs no installations.
I just run it here on W10.
I had limited usage of it, once I need a smoke to puff out a news encore so I used it.

**One thing I notice, 3.0 can output as frame sequence, but 13.0 do not.
3.0 has matrix, I don't see that in 13. 13 will not load 3.0 project

***OK Now 13 got the matrix.

Boris has a lot of tutorials to get you started. Yes, the free version you can not import video or a clip into it. It's free. The plugin version works with software listed above. I have the full Boris Continuum 2020.5 in another editor I use.
I've found the PI to run really smooth on my computer, and there is so much that can be done with it.
