image anomaly when using fill light/clarity

Post by deadpixel »

i use PSP mosty to pimpy my 360 photo's here, but resently i discovered a option what made me in love.
however..... on regular photo's there are no anomalies ,but on my 360 photo's i see a masive distortion after using the fill light/clarity tool.
and its not the stitch line, its the left and right side of the photo !
so, this tool is a no go for me, but is there a fix for it ?, or alternate settings ?
i use it mostly to boost photo's what are a bit darker.
normal screenshot.

With my PSP 2020, I don't see the defect.
Could you test with the 360° sample images provided by Corel (see Samples folder)?
I tested with Landscape-1 but don't see anything abnormal.

What settings did you use in the Fill Light/Clarity tool in your sample image? The way that the stone fence has become more exposed indicates at least some Fill Light. And if you're concerned about the sky at left and right, Clarity will increase contrast and I would expect that to show up more in the sky areas where the clouds and blue of the sky intersect. The anomaly to me, however, is that the sky/cloud contrast in the normal (first) image at upper right is more what I would expect to happen with the Clarity tool. That area of the image actually looks somewhat more normal/less contrasty to me in the second image although it is lighter (more exposed) overall.

EDIT: Having re-read your post and examining the image again I now see what you mean - not the way the tool exposed the image but how it distorted it physically, changing the proportions.

can confirm it, on the sample images no defects.
tried resizing my stuff, same defect, hmm...

litle update.
the only thing i could think of was that all images where horizon level corrected, so i tested it with the raw images, same defect.
so i pulled some images from my pixpro, no defect, but here the stitch line is beter visible,hmm..
