I am using VS X10.5.0.60. I am putting together an audio-only (at the moment) of a distanced choir. I am using audio track 1 for the piano and adding voices to the audio tracks 2, 3, etc.
However, when I add a sound recording into track 4 and above - it does not play on project playback. I've tried moving the sound clips around and they all play perfectly if they are in track 1-3 or the voice-over track. So the problem is not with the recordings. Any ideas what's wrong?

addendum... I have found that tracks beyond 3 will play OK in the main editor screen. The problem seems to be isolated to only the mixer screen.

Yes Confirmed that using multiple tracks for me track 4 and above does not play, I do not need clips in 1 to 3
Add a clip to 4 and above and there is no sound, then X10 crashed on me a few times
The volume level indicator does not work for those clips, just a solid bar
I had thought it maybe surround sound settings but using stereo was the same
Sorry I do not have any suggestions, you may have to avoid the sound mixer although I assume it helps with syncing the clips.
If the program is not crashing at least you can keep working.
I cannot recall if this problem has been reported before.
I’II check other versions.
