Bad preview with RX 5700 XT graphics card

Post by dryfang »

Hi!
I’ve just replaced my old Nvidia GTX 1050Ti graphics card (ASUS Strix 4GB DDR5) with a Radeon RX5700XT graphics card (Sapphire Nitro+ special edition 8GB DDR6).
After the installation of the latest AMD driver everything is fine. Only Corel Videostudio 2020 doesn’t work well any more. I’ve got a bad preview (see attachment).
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Regards,
Yang

On the Performance tab have you selected "Enable Hardware Decoder acceleration" or "Enable Hardware Encoder acceleration". If so then try deselecting them.

Thank you for the suggestion!
I've just tried out different settings as well as setting combinations. The result is still the same.
In the meantime, I reinstalled VS 2020, but the issue remains. I also installed the old VS 2019 again. It turned out VS 2019 has no preview problem with my new "high end graphics card".

In your image, you appear to be editing DJI drone footage. Your post doesn't include the properties of these clips, e.g. H264 or H265, UHD or FHD, etc.

Are you saying that VS2020 with a Radeon RX5700XT can't preview any videos/still images or just your DJI clips?
