Remove Background - Need advise

Hello,
I have a photo I plan to replaced the sky. However, part of the sky was half covered by window shade as in pic1. Is there any way or trick to removed the sky background behind the shade so I can overlay another sky scene ? Thanks

Hi okyou,

in my opinion, the easiest way is to use Blend Ranges.

The link points directly to the part of the video that shows sky replacement (but there are also timestamps in the description, in case you wanna check out more uses of the Blend Ranges).

Tip: Don't bother to remove any background. Throw in the new sky as a new a layer (as shown there), adjust it & move it to your liking, use the Blend Ranges (again as shown there) and when you get satisfied with how it looks behind the shades, use the Eraser brush with low hardness and erase the unneeded parts of the sky.
