Video studio ultimate Split Screen Template Creator
Hi. I'm having an issue with the split-screen creator. It limits me to a 10-second clip. It did not do this originally. Is there a setting that I may have inadvertently changed. Searched high and low and can't find anything. Thanks

Hi
And welcome to the forums
Can you tell us which version of Video Studio you are using, maybe update your profile to include that detail.
How are you using applying the Split Screen effects
Are you choosing the templates from the library or opening the Split Screen Template Creator from the tool bar immediately above the timelines.
Once the effect is imported to the timelines, yes they are displayed as clips/place holders at 10 seconds but we can change the duration of those clips increasing the lengths
Select the clip then drag the right hand yellow handle to the right or double click the clip to open the options panels – Edit tab will show a clock, set the duration and the place holder will/should increase in length

Re: Video studio ultimate Split Screen Template Creator
Hi Trevor. I have Corel Video Studio 23.1.0.481 64Bit Ultimate. I'm using the split-screen template creator. I've tried both the methods you suggest but neither has worked. I can drag the yellow handle and it does extend the clip in the timeline, but the clip still only plays 10 seconds. I have tried to alter the clock but it will not go above 10 seconds.

Re: Video studio ultimate Split Screen Template Creator
First there is a new Service Pack 3 available for CVS 2020, go to Help – Check for updates, quite big as service patches go at 1.5 Gb
That takes us to version 23.2.0.587, and no idea what that has fixed or not?
I will have another look at the Split Screen Templates Editor and the clips trim options
When using the editor are you adding images or video, Try images to see if the clips can be increased in length.

Re: Video studio ultimate Split Screen Template Creator
Hi
Ok I think I have found your problem
There is a bug / issue when changing the duration of video files
With earlier versions dragging the yellow trim handles would not allow us to drag beyond the end of the video.
For some reason they have changed this either in error or intentionally.
Either way we can now drag the trim handles to the right beyond the end if the video, for me that is wrong, the program now created duplicate frames
In the same way that Freeze Frame would work
When we play the video it will play to the original end then be static as playing over an image.
I now assume the videos you are using are the libraries samples, some of which are 10 seconds long.
Can you confirm which video clips you are using

Re: Video studio ultimate Split Screen Template Creator
I just ran across this old post. I have run into the same issue. When I use the split screen editor to make my own template, I am limited to about 9 seconds. My clips are 1-3 minutes. I know I can stretch this out back in the VS editor, but I would like to be able to create key frames and adjust windows in the split screen editor beyong the 9 second point. Is there a fix or am I missing something here?

Hi mangurian -
After creating your split screen template and inserted your media, select a track, right-click and select Motion>Customize Motion. Here you can make all of the sizing, motions and keyframes you want.
