both computers are windows7, 64bit, both lenovo
same installation disc, same psp x6 16.0.0.113 in both computers
the freehand selection tool in one, the one i prefer, draws a rectangular area between two points and determines the optimal tracing. i prefer this because the rectangular area is a comfortable guide for me.
on the OTHER computer the freehand selection tool does not draw the rectangular area. it determines the optimal tracing between the two points WITHOUT creating the rectangular area
why the difference and can i bring back the rectangular area in a setting?
freehand selection is different on two computers

What mode is set on the freehand selection tool? Is it point to point or smart edge?

Re: freehand selection is different on two computers
As Levi says, most tools have additional options, located on the horizontal toolbar at the top.
The freehand selection tool has a Selection Type option with a drop-down list, like this: https://prnt.sc/stnxph
Most likely you get different behavior because you have a different Selection Type active.
