Paintshop Pro (PSP) 2020 Won't Load File

Post by utleywr »

Recently on opening either the 32 or 64-bit versions of PSP 2020, all I get is the circular hourglass. I can't ever close the program without Ctrl-Alt-Del, in which case Windows 10 shuts the program down. Any thoughts of this matter?

Hello and welcome to the forum.

When you close PSP via the Task Manager are you then able to launch the program successfully?

After shutting down PSP with the Task Manager, when opening it again, I experience the same problem, even following a reboot.

Hi
You could try restoring the program to its default state
Make sure Task Manager is clear of Corel Paintshop Pro entries before trying to restore

Hold the Shift key then try to run the program, you should see a message to restoring the program.

I've tried the Shift key and open file routine and no message appears. Additionally, the same problem persists. Any other suggestions?

Just in case there is confusion, the program can be reset to defaults when the shift key is held down when clicking to start PSP (not open an image file). A small dialogue appears and requests confirmation.
