I bought paintshop pro 2020 recent and have just started trying to explore it. When I open a file I have a limited interface however instead of the interface I see in tutorial videos. How can I activate things like the magic wand?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Go to File -> Workspace -> Complete and you should see all the tools you are looking for.
