IT FROZE

Post by ItsFoxy87 »

I kept trying to upload a vid on corel to my computer using mp4 (Twice), but the program would freeze up, and I couldn't close it, therefore I cant access my home page unless I restart the computer. This same problem recurred for the third time when I tried to upload via mov instead of mp4, unchecking smart render and hardware encode acceleration, hoping that fixed the problem, but it didn't. I haven't gave up on this yet, but can you help me before I rage? :?:

Hi ItsFoxy87
And welcome to the forums

Can you first update your profile to include useful info rather than I “don’t know” type comments
Leaving the options blank would have been a better option.
On your profile panel is a link to a small piece of software Belarc Advisor that will read your pc configuration to help in completing the info.
https://www.belarc.com/products_belarc_advisor

As you are having issues with the program it would help if you could tell us which version of Video Studio you are using, you can also add those details to your profile

The title of your topic “It Froze” does not give much away, a more meaningful name would help.
Ok
Whilst working with Mov files you may be best to install the QuickTime codec, just the Codec not the player, that does help with some Mov types.
As you cannot open the files using Video Studio you can use MediaInfo to find details of the videos properties

Your profile doesn't state which version of VS you're using. Please update your profile so that we know.

You don't have to "take apart my computer", rather simply run "System Information" and read off the processor and RAM information.

What does "upload a vid on corel" mean? Are you trying to add a video clip to the timeline? Can you add any video clip, e.g. the sample clips provided in the Library?
What is your "home page"? Is it your desktop?

This isn't my computer, its my moms. I didn't want to go through all that stuff just to accidentally mess the computer up and don't wanna get grounded

Hi
Video Studio
Can you please tell us which version you are using, when you launch the program the details will show on the splash screen image.
Once the program is running try using the video and image samples from the library, simply drag to the timeline, are you able to use those without problems.

System Information
It is possible that if your moms pc is on the older side then it may not be able to run the latest versions of Video Studio
By the way how old are you?

You should do no harm in viewing the System Information
Using the search bar lower left of monitor type Info, that should find the “system Information app”, showing you a lot of details regarding the PC
Then please update your profile to include as many details you find.

Ok
Your MP4 files, can you give details of those files, where did they come from, for instance, did you record using a camera ?
If they were recorded using an I-Phone then the program could have problems using those types of video
