Setting a default transition in UVS9

Using UVS9, is there a way to set a "default" transition? I thought I was able to do this in a previous version, but I can not figure out how to do it with UVS9.

I would just like to select a transition that will automatically insert itself between my clips as I add new clips. Since I use the same transition between most clips, this would be perfect.

File -> Preferences -> General, check the option to enable default transitions, and pick one.
