Corel VideoStudio 2018 track transparency doesn't work??
So my issue is that I would like to simply fade in an overlay track. To do this I changed the track transparency and key framed it to go from 0 opacity at 100 as shown in the image attached. My issue is that each time I try and do this, the opacity stays on what it is set to at the start, e.g if I set it to 50 it will stay at 50 through the whole clip even though I have key framed it, and as shown in the image when it is opacity 0, it just shows a black screen as that is my background for the video track.

Welcome to the forum!
Why don't you just use a black matte clip at the start and insert a lengthy cross fade transition between the black clip and your first video clip?

This was really just to demonstrate my issue. The idea is to fade between two clips without a black background and it wouldn't work like this either so I just put this as it seemed easier as a question.Ken Berry wrote:Welcome to the forum!![]()

Customise Motion does allow us to set a fade-in to our clips, as well as many other effects otherwise try the A/B fx crossfade, will also fade-in our clips

I don't understand what you are after and to what track did you apply transparency? it should work.jacob_w14 wrote:This was really just to demonstrate my issue.
