Layer Manager: Some objects have the same number

eGreetings,

I have PhotoImpact 10 (v10.0.0.1) and some of my objects in my layer manager have the same object number.

Some of the objects that have the same number are duplicates and some are not.

This is occuring on more than just one .ufo.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program but I am getting the same problem.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a patch that I haven't found?
Is there a way to re-number the objects?

I realize that I can re-name them manually. But it would be nice if I could somehow run a re-number.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't get what your problem is. If particular objects have the same object name then they must be grouped together. What problem is the object naming causing?

The objects in the Layer Manager are not grouped together. They just have the same object number.

This is especially troublesome when you have a large number of objects that are small and of the same type.

Having the objects with their own number makes it easy to find and select just the one object.

Did you know of a way to re-number the objects?

I have searched the internet and have not found anyone with the same problem. So I am thinking that there is something wrong with my PhotoImpact program.

I will try uninstalling and reinstalling again. Or I will have just have to manually assign a new name to each object. Assigning a name just takes a lot of time.

Try the reinstallation first... this way you won't have to go through the pains of renumbering it. Your situation is really not normal. Mine doesn't work that way.

Thanks again for your input.

That is what I needed to know. That someone elses Layer Manager does not assign the same number to duplicate objects or different objects.

I am thinking it might be that the program is unhappy with one of the plug ins I am using. I will try not assigning any plugins before I unintall and reinstall again.
