big big problem

Post by miltk »

i thoughtlessly uninstalled psp5 then realized i had deleted all the images and data with it. so i did a restore point recovery. when i open psp5 again an i got the error message "cannot locate file JCD.DAT in the current application directory"

as a result when i do a browse in psp5 to my image folder i see this. all the 2000 thumbnails are there but no images. everything else is normal, ie if i go to program files/paint shop pro/xxxx everything is there. it's just that in psp i cannot browse to ANY images located on my computer. they are all blacked out

can i recover this JCD.DAT file ?

Do you think you could explain your goof? There are always people here who have problems with inserting things in various timelines, and with ripple editing. So what happened to you, and your solution, could be very helpful to others...

theres this great program image organizer,,,simply the best around and for my purposes, indispensable,,,thumbs plus. it does things no other such program does. however because most of my years has been spent using tp on windowsXP, in order for me to transfer all my image data to w7 I had to place my source files in a particular directory.

this directory was a "fake" folder paint shop pro 5 used as the source folder for my images. I forgot about this. so when sh** happen on the executable PSP, the source folder was unaffected . all I had to do was reinstall psp... I lost no image data. it was a particular problem for me, and not applicable to others
