Keep folders with files in Video Studio

I´ll try to explain as best as i can.
I have bought version 2020. I want to keep the folder with all the files as I have in X8 so I can use them in the new version when I open 2020.

No it's not, as we don't know what you have in X8.

I made folders where I put photos and music. They have diferent names.

You can store material by project within folders created by VS, or you can store them under their own folders using windows explorer. Either way works, but if you later uninstall a version of VS which contains project material in VS folders, that gets uninstalled too. I prefer the windows based folder method, but it's a personal preference item.

Are you referring to the library folders if so you could try from X8 - Settings – Library Manager - Export Library
Then open 2020 and use the Import Library
That should add your X8 library to your 2020 library
My only concern is the older X8 program or are you using 2018.

I did try importing the library from X7 and that appeared to work.

Before you start I would Export the existing 2020 library just to create that as a backup
