When uploading video clips to Videostudio 2020 - particularly 4K - I leave time for the proxy files to be created before I attempt any form of editing.
That works fine and I can trim clips using the scrubber and cut tool but there are times when I'd like to use the Multi-Trim option ..... but can't. Whenever I try, the multi-trim window struggles to move and appears, from its behaviour, to be accessing the original file rather than the proxy file. Is that supposed to happen as it seems a bit strange if that is the case ?
Not sure it is related but I've noticed that although the scrubber works fine on the proxy files, if I highlight a video clip by clicking on it and then try to use the scrubber then, again, it struggles and again appears to be accessing the original file rather than the proxy. This isn't a big issue to be honest but I'm just curious as to why it does that and whether it actually SHOULD do that.
Does Multi-Trim Window Use Proxy Files ?

Re: Does Multi-Trim Window Use Proxy Files ?
Hi Paul
A little different results although I don’t normally use Multi Trim and rely on the timelines, just personal preference
Using 2020 the Multi Trim panel is larger as Corel have tweaked the programs panel sizes, that’s another issue.
Trying Multi Trim was not as smooth as I would have liked, stuttered a little more noticeable listening to audio but I was able to use without much problem
The Multi Trim screen looked low quality, shimmering pixels, I wonder if the low display quality is done on purpose.
I deleted the proxy file and tried again, Multi Trim playback speed and audio was about the same difficult to say if it was worse? but manageable, seemed better the second time after the timelines displayed the video, a little slow to refresh there.
Returning to the main timelines was very bad, so slow without proxy files, I created the proxy file again, then back to normal playback
Accessed Multi Trim again with little or no difference, strange that MTV seemed ok / the same with and without proxies, yet the timelines definitely needed proxies
Cutting on the timelines using the scissors / brackets F3 & F4 or keyboard (S) works for me, pity hitting (S) stops playback, I did not notice any problems or delays using the timelines.
My test clip was short at 1 minute 36 seconds
