Using VS 2018. When I import a file, it creates the new file with the wrong time stamp. The time is always off by 1 hour. I attached an image. Note the filename has an our of 10am, but the file date is 9am.
Thanks

Re: Import causes wrong file name/date
Hi
and welcome to the forums
Video Studio does not create the dates it takes information from the files meta data
Name column indicates the date and time that we imported the file to our PC.
The Date column shows the Shooting date the Date Taken, you can set window to show that column
I have checked a lot of images and all do the same, at least that’s how I understand it.
View one of your other images
Right click the original file on the hard drive for Properties, view the details tab to compare what VS shows.

Re: Import causes wrong file name/date
I do think it creates the file name from the Meta Data. What confuses me when I view the properties via right click (or use a more advanced viewer) all the Meta data is 9:58am. I have no idea why it adds an hour to the file name. I just did the import today, so it is using 2019, May 9th, which is when the picture is taken.
I tried changing the time on my computer by an hour, but no difference.
Thanks

Hi
The Date column shows the date the image was taken, the shooting date.
The Name column shows the date the file was transferred to the pc.

Re: Import causes wrong file name/date
I'm confused now. How can I have 20 files exactly 1 hour out of date? I did not transfer them 1 hour after I took the image. In my example, I did the transfer today, but the date of the import file is May 5th, 2019. Maybe there is a setting for importing and the renaming function.

Re: Import causes wrong file name/date
Hi
Is there some confusion here.
When i refer to the Name column, that is the date the files were saved to the computer, not the date that they were imported into the Video Studio program
If it were the date imported to VS that date would change if we import the same image again.
I will do more tests to make sure i have it correct, the image i provided showed an image taken in February and then uploaded to the PC in March
The image was imported to VS yesterday
Your best option may be to right click the timelines and choose Import Photo, or the library for import Media files
Do not use Import Digital Media
Using Insert Photo will open your browser allowing us to locate our images, these will be inserted without changing the names, as you see them when using Windows Explorer
Of course you will have to transfer the images from the camera / sd card to the pc before using Video Studio.
