How do you re-edit a fixed VS template.
I want to insert my..pictures into a pre-existing programme found on the the fantastic VS. Lets go for 'Instant Project' - OK. RIGHT...SO..i drag n drop one of the preexisting programmes - onto timeline..luvely jubbly...tis works....but ...BUT..you'd of thought the whole purpose was to make this easy wouldnt you...but oh nooo...thats not the VS way is it. I cant simple drag a photo and place in on top of one of theres...getting the overall effect...oh no..that totally messes it all up. SO - whats the purpose of these preexisting short videos...when i cant really use them? I have tried ( oh boy have i tried! ) to copy Attributes and paste onto my photos etc etc
SO IN NUTSHELL.....HOW CAN I USE THESE TEMPLATES. I want to make a VERY EASY, BUT effective ( like some of these templates ) photo montage.
If you can answer me in..say...3 sentences do so..any more than that then your complicating things.
Thanks for listening. Keep well.

Re: For the Love of God...
It is documented in HELP and in most tutorials, but very simple to achieve, when you drag your image onto the template, ALSO hold the Ctrl key whilst dragging onto the template, then release
Post updated to correct typo Shift to Ctrl

Re: For the Love of God...
Hi Robert
Is that a typo and should read " ALSO hold the Ctrl key "
In addition there is a tool tip that shows as we drag the clip indicating how to replace clip

Templarte - flickfast - Cntl, shift, drag dont work!
ERM - CORRECTION - it doesnt work!!!!!!! Not when you use ( typically the one i wanted to use! ) the custom template ( flickfast ). ffs! It just adds your photos next to the original making it useless.
Dont bother replying though. Had enough of it.

Re: How do you re-edit a fixed VS template.
Then perhaps you need to explain what you are doing, are you using Instant Projects or FastFlick

Sorry for the reply.....
There is more things in the world to worry about other than being upset in replacing a clip
The use of CTRL and drag and drop is quite specific and we have to hit the key at the right time
I tend to drag the clip until it overlaps the placeholder a little bit, then pressing CTRL will snap the new clip into position, then I first release the mouse and then release CTRL
If you are having difficulty with that approach there is an option to replace clip, right click the placeholder for Replace Clip-Photo, then browse your files for your image, it works but Drag and Drop + CTRL is much easier in my opinion
Keep safe

Re: For the Love of God...
WHY are you holding down the shift key - nobody told you to do that - just the left mouse key and Ctrl is all you need - and let go of the mouse key BEFORE you let the ctrl key come upgarjobo123 wrote:Oh my goodness, it works..holding cntl and shift whilst dragging.

Sorry for any confusion--- there was a typo in the original reply showing Shift corrected to Ctrl, i'll make a note on that post to clarify

Re: Templarte - flickfast - Cntl, shift, drag dont work!
Just tried some of the FastFlick templates within the Custom Folder and have no problem adding video/images, it really is a matter of timinggarjobo123 wrote:ERM - CORRECTION - it doesnt work!!!!!!! This thread may help. Go to my post, download the file. Originally done for a slightly different issue but it demonstrates what Robert and Trevor have posted here.
