Duplicate scenes in a production

is it possible to detect multiple identical scenes/clips in a VS production and HOW do I do it?

And welcome to the forums
No we cannot detect duplicated clips within the timelines other than looking at the timelines, storyboard view is probably the best option.
When we add a clip to the timelines the library clip does show a green tick, thats about as good as it gets.

I manage my files using Windows Explorer then import to the library or timelines, I usually know if I have duplicate clips.

Yes it's possible but not directly in VS, rather open the VSP file and grep for duplicates.
