Hello!
I'm a newbie to Video Studio 2020. I'm having trouble figuring out how to do the following: I have a clip with spoken audio. In the middle of that clip, I want to replace part of the video with another clip that has no audio while continuing the original audio. I have done this by splitting the audio from the track and then replacing the video with other video. This all works fine. However, when I add transitions to both ends of the new video clip, this shifts the video clip and the audio is now out of sync with the rest of the original clip. I tried using Ripple Edit which helped the problem but there were still some audio issues where the transitions occurred.
So what is the right way (if any) to do this with transitions?
Thanks!
How to replace a clip and maintain audio sync.

Welcome to the forum!
Why don't you just put the new piece of video in the overlay track, expanding it as necessary so that it fills the screen there? That way your original video will continue to play. And no need to extract the audio from the video...

Ken,
Thanks for the tip! That's what I was looking for. So simple I missed it.

Hi
Then adding a A/B - FX Crossfade to each end will give is a smoother transition between clips.
Can also use Customise Motion to fade in out
