I currently have Video Studio 2019 and wondering is the upgrade to 2020 worth it or should i wait for 2021?

No one can answer that question, but you.
Look at the new features and see if it's something you want.
Also read through the forums and see if there are any issues that others who have upgraded are now experiencing.

A lot of users found VS 2019 very problematic across the board. At least some of those problems have been fixed in VS 2020 (though some users are still suffering various problems). So that in itself could be a reason to upgrade.

But if 2019 is currently working OK for you, then I suspect it might be best to stick with it for a while longer and wait for a further service pack for 2020 which hopefully will fix remaining problems there.

I have the same question. On paper VS 2019 is perfect for me. But it is unstable. Crashes, freezes like no earlier versions. I have used at least 4-5 early versions.
The only reason to upgrade for me would be a stable and reliable working environment. I believe Corel should give free code for 2019 owners in order to upgrade to 2020 since 2019 was really a failure.

If 2019 was a failure, then 2020 shoudl have never been considered as a "major" version.
I was onoe of the firsts to get th eupgrade, but simply was not able to work with this at all.
All those constant crashes, freezes, file rename issues was CRAZY.
So rolled back to 2019 and now with a certain comfort level.
Best regards

Ken's advice is sound; the next sp for 2020 (sp3) supposedly has 83 fixes in it. The last 2 sp's were over 1gb each, which for a product that grosses 4-5 Gb for the corel part a fix change of 20-25% each time is really significant.
