Re: Preference setting page to big
I've just installed VideoStudio 2020 + Ultimate (because I wanted the extra colour controls). I'm having this issue too (with a 1280 x 800 screen) though I can see everything eventually, even though I have to scroll sometimes in panels (which shouldn't be necessary, because there would be room for everything if it wasn't showing excessively large). So they seem to have fixed it a bit, but the program is still annoying to use. I hope Corel gets round to doing something - I have notified them of the issue too. Unless I need to use the colour controls, I'll keep using X9.

That over-large panel on a 1366x768 resolution screen is typical of several (see lata's post), and the screen size is typical of a laptop screen. And similar sizes (1440x900) less than the FHD spec of 1920x1080 all had the same problem with VideoStudio 2020. Which I and others complained about many times. There is a trick to applying the changes made that another user found - if you cannot reach the OK button, just press <enter>.
You haven't indicated a version of VS2020, but there is a fix available in the latest service pack for VS2020, published not that long ago, and when applied it gives a version number of 23.3.0.646 (see Help/About). To get it, open VS, go to Help/Check for Updates, and when the updates panel opens ignore the auto check item and click on "check for Updates" (top of the list). That will get you a panel indicating whether there is - or is not - updates available. If there are updates indicated, click OK to get them. It will take a while, depending on your broadband speed -the update is 1.5gb large, and takes 15-20 minutes just to download on a 50Mbps nominal service. Once done, you should see a panel inviting installation. Do that with VS closed, and it will take a further 5-10 minutes to install (there have been various posts about all this in the forum). Don't be put-off by the installer green progress bar reaching 100% and seeming to be stuck there - that seems to be normal, just let it alone and it will finish.
With this SP installed, your over-large preferences screen is now gone . . . .

Re: Preference setting page to big
I reply to my own post. I had a reply from Corel to say put the screen magnification to 200%. That surely will make the problem worse. However, I did fiddle around with screen resolutions (reluctant at first because it tends to rearrange the hundred or so icons that I have on my two screens). Increasing the resolution from 1280 x 800 to 1650x1050 and the magnification from 100% to 125% leaves other things pretty much as they are (though crisper - in fact, more difficult to read, and I guess I'll just have to get used to that) but VideoStudio now fits much better - nearly all of it fits on the screen with very little scrolling. In fact, it seems that VS is NOT affected by screen scale (in the Windows Display settings), but IS affected by display resolution - so upping one and decreasing the other means VS displays well, and the other things are the same size.
