audio files in the project
Hello dear forum users! Help me please! Audio files of an almost finished project were mistakenly sent to recycle bin. After the restoring, another error occurred and now these files are in WLC format. Corel does not see them. Is there any way to return audio files to their original format? I have windows 10 end COREL ULTIMATE 2018 Thanks in advance for yours response.

Re: audio files in the project
Sorry, I have never heard of a WLC audio format and cannot find one with a google search. Do you mean VLC? VLC is a media player mainly for video but can also play audio files. It can also be used to convert formats. One of its formats is in fact .vlc. Moreover, it is free -- look for and download VLC Player. Then under File you will see a Convert entry.

Re: audio files in the project
Dear Mr. Ken Berry! First of all, thanks for the quick reply. Of course I was mistaken, the VLC format. I see my files in the Audio Tmp folder, but there is an VLC icon next to them. I don’t know what the original format should be and whether it is possible to transfer the files to the desired format from the VLC and the project saw them. Sincerely, Semyon Bezymyansky.

Re: audio files in the project
Hi
How did you actually delete the files, was that through Video Studio or via a windows explorer folder?
Although ken says there is a VCL audio format I would think what you seeing showing VLC an orange cone is merely indicating that the files will open in VLC when double clicked, it does not indicate the file type.
The two most common audio files being Wav and MP3.
If your files were deleted using Windows Explorer then they should be in your Recycle Bin
Using Video Studio do you see a message to relink the missing files, to the top of that window indicates the last know location of the file, showing the file name would indicate the file type, sample as attached image.
If the file does not exist in that location then try restoring from your recycle bin.

Re: audio files in the project
Thank you for attention. Files have been dumped to the recycle bin. A relink was made, but then by mistake they were transferred to the VLC format (orange cones). In the project, they should be in the format of WAV? If so, then how to transfer from VLC to WAV? Thanks.

Hi
Did you move the images out of the recycle bin, if so can you locate on your hard drive.
The VCL icon I do not think is the file type but the player
Your folder options can show the files extension
View the image If you can see a folder that has your files you should be able to import those to video Studio
Can you provide a similar screen shot of your folder.

Re: audio files in the project
Those are temporary files created by Video Studio they are not your sound / audio files
you should do a search on your hard drive for files having a +++++.wav as its extension not ++++.tmp
When you open Video Studio do you get any error messages or popup panels requesting a re-link
If so can you see the files name?

Dear Ken Berry and lata, thank you very much for your attention and patience, but I can’t cope with my problem. It’s a pity that several months of work were lost

Hi lata. I want to take advantage of your kind offer. Now I am at work, but starting from 5 p.m. in your (UK) time, I will be at my computer at home. Or it can be done any other day when it will be convenient for you at the same time. Let me know. Best Regards
