I have VS6 SE installed on my computer and it works fine. I downloaded VS8 trial version to try it out. It works fine until I get to the Burn DVD section. It freezes up, and the only way I can get out of it is by pulling the plug of the computer.
I have a Sony Vaio with Pentium 4, 2.4Ghz, 512 RAM, 160GB HD with 120GB free space.
Any suggestions??
Thanks!
Video8 trial version crashes

it been a long time !
1- backup every important files ( no programs )
2- re-install Windows ( you'l flush your hard disk )
3- re-install video studio and ONLY important softwares...
4- it should work... but... remember this : ALWAYS degrament your hard disk after finishining ( i figure you deleted ) a video project.

In the 9 months, if you have been following this Board, you will have seen us ask quite a number of other people who have a similar problem whether they have Nero's InCD or similar third party packet writing software installed. It will often take over the burner and not let other programs have access to it. InCD does not allow itself to be switched off, so the only way around it is to uninstall it. There is a similar program from Roxio which does, however, allow itself to be switched off.

I have read that suggestion, and I don't have Roxio or Nero installed. The strange thing about this is that I can still burn a DVD in VS6SE as I mentioned in my first post. I thought maybe VS6SE might be causing a conflict with VS9, so I uninstalled it but it didn't help.Ken Berry wrote:In the 9 months, if you have been following this Board, you will have seen us ask quite a number of other people who have a similar problem whether they have Nero's InCD or similar third party packet writing software installed. Madzoid, I want to make your suggestion my very last option. I can't believe that I need to take such an extreme measure to get this to work, and who knows.... it might not work after reloading Windows
P.S. I have talked with a tech from ULEAD who said there was a file that was not posted on the ULEAD website that he was going to email me. He said that ULEAD only releases it to customer's with this specific issue. Before we ended our conversation he tried to locate the file but couldn't because the server was down. That was last Thursday and I haven't recieved the file yet. Has anyone here heard of such a file? If and when I receive it, maybe I could post it here?
