PaintShop Pro 2020 disappears from PC

This is the second time this has happened. I installed the program and it seemed to launch fine for a few days. Suddenly, it will not start from the START menu. It will not launch from the Taskbar icon. It will not start when I right click a jpg and and try to use "Open With." I went into my directory and tried to click on the main "Corel PaintShop Pro.EXE" file. Same thing. It's gone. When I click to launch I get the little rotating circle next to my mouse arrow for about two seconds and then it stops. After this happened the first time, I deleted the program from the installed program list and then used the cleanup uninstall program that was recommended here before I reinstalled it. I also have PaintShop Pro 2018 installed and it continues to work perfectly including the right click "Open with" command. The other programs I use on this machine are Word, Excel, Chrome and Picasa 3 (only as a picture viewer). Picasa also has a button for "Open with" and it too does nothing. Please help.

Have you checked in Task Manager > Background Processes? Some of us have found that when we close PSP it disappears from screen, but continues to run in the background for varying periods. Finding it in Background Processes and right clicking then selecting End Task gets rid of it and allows PSP to be properly reopened again.

That does not, however, explain your problem with Picasa, which I can't help you with...

YES, it did appear as a background press in Task Manager. I removed it and the program did launch. I will have to watch it whenever I open it to see how it acts when I hit the X in the upper right corner. Never had this happen with PSP 2018.
