CVS2020 Update SP4 available

Service pack SP4 is available to download and install through the program
SP4 updates CVS 2020 to version 23.3.0.646, from Help About if this shows then there is no need to install SP4

Using Video Studio, we should receive an automatic notification that updates are available.
Otherwise use Help Check for updates

SP4 is approximately 1.5 Gb and may take some time to download and install, be patient.

This is a list of problems that SP4 addressed

Acceleration setting in Share does not match setting in Preferences
VSX10 / 2019 / 2020 - DVD menu template not saving and reloading
Crop doesn't work correctly
Media Library Animation not working (Beta-0404)
Upgrade to the latest Canon SDK for Stop motion

We are now aware that Corel have provided a program update
I have no details of any fixes as yet

Please go to Help - About to verify your version - New version should be 23.1.0.481

If you do not see this version Please go to Help Check for updates to download

Follow details to install - this is the only option to install the service pack

Please close Video Studio whilst installing the patch

Can't move a clip from one bin to another
Painting Creator - custom brushes, add delete option
Can't drag an imported path to another folder
Painting Creator: some textures show grid lines when they shouldn't
Video Duration clock discrepancy
Youtube login fails
Apply FX to SRT, app hangs for several seconds, then crashed in operations afterward
FX Background Blur has no effect, can't customize
Garbled texts in Share - observed in French and German
LUT "Invert" effect isn't shown, just solid gray
Share: text overlap and translated incorrectly
When VS2019 and VS2020 co-exist, open project, 2019 will crash.
Timeline settings aren't adjusting to a new clip format, and clips in Library will be displayed in wrong sized icon

I was having the same issue. Every so often the programme would just shut on me with no reason.

I also hope the audio issue has been resolved (I haven't been able to test it yet). Previously you couldn't lower the volume as it would stay the same no matter what you would put.

Please go to Help – About – what do you see
My version shows as 23.1.0.481
If you see that then your program is upto date and does not require this service pack

Any new installations will install the latest version and the service pack will not be required

If your version is different go Help – Check for Updates
That is the only way to install service packs, we can no longer download service packs from Corel.com

If check for updates does show that one is available it should auto install
The actual file will be saved here
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Corel\VideoStudio2020

I solved the problem doing this things:

First mi version VS2020 was outdated.

I tried by autoupdate but was not working, so i opened the folder you told me and i executed vs2020_sp2.exe with right click on mouse and selecting AS ADMINISTRATOR

doing this the update is now installed and updated to .391 to .481

Hope this will help anyone could have my same issue.

Does the program simply disappear from your desktop
or does the program become unresponsive where you use Task Manager to close the program

The update has caused me a world of pain. Firstly the upload just kept uploading, it would finish and then continue to upload again. I could not make it stop. Then I noticed the the Boris Titler FX had disappeared from my effects list. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no change.

I've gone to Corel Help and with reductions in staff it has been going on two weeks with no resolution. They sent me a second exe file and instructed me to switch off my fire wall and virus protection. It downloaded and started to install, got to 997 GB downloaded then dropped back to 925 GB and kept going through this loop, never fulling loading.

I've now provided Corel with system analysis so they might be able to figure out what is going on. But until the recent update to CVS2020 everything was working perfectly fine.

Anyone else got problems?

I have not had a problem installing the program, I did choose to uninstall and re-install rather than applying the patch. I created a new download folder so I could download the entire program again.
I see the programs installation files as 6.76 Gb - The Service Pack SP2 was approx 1.5 Gb
So I do not understand your sizes of 997 Gb is out of this world

I assume Corel advised you to uninstall and re-install the program.

Downloading the SP2 file should save here
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Corel\VideoStudio2020

So if SP2 did complete the download at any time you could try installing from there.
I see the file as VS2020_SP2.exe at 1.501,897Kb

Hi Trevor,
I'd spent two days now trying to fix my pc as I was totally unable to go on with my project. First, since version 2019 if I use the in/out zoom slider the cursor just get stuck for a while. You cannot move it. This never happened with any other version. I've learned to press the Windows key and then it released the cursor.

There were different things that did that caused VS just to freeze or it just jumped totally out of the program. Simple things like moving a clip to another position in the timeline was the most annoying thing. Adding the New Blue fx etc I cannot recall them all.

It was so frustrating that I searched the internet, looking for other programs to try out. I even downloaded Blender and Da Vinci Resolve, as many gave excellent reviews for these two. Needless to say I found it difficult to learn a new application while I was desperately trying to finish a project.

So I then changed my hard drive that I replaced few months ago. I installed VS there and immediately could see that the program runs better. Then changed back to the new hard drive, did a clean system installation and installing everything back on my pc. This is time very time consuming but I wanted to make sure that the problem is not with my own hardware. I will only start to edit now and see how it goes. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for your response I always learned a lot from this forum. I will update my hardware on my profile.

NS: I'm working on a 4k project which is also something that concerned me, if VS can handle it. I did make proxy files. Now that I did a clean install (my proxy files is on another partition) I guess I have to create proxy files all over again, which is also very time consuming.

I would think after all the work that you may have to create again

I have my programs installed on the C:Drive and a proxy folder created on the D:Drive aptly named “All Proxies”
I have several versions of Video Studio installed and all are using the same proxy folder.
Interestingly creating proxies using say X10 will also be used when running any other version, of course using the same files
As far as I am aware proxies are retained when re-installing my programs.
But then not a big deal to create proxies again, we can do that from the library or timelines, a little time to create, but that’s one think we have at the moment, just means a longer coffee break
