For more than three years, I worked on a short film called "Rendezvous," a thriller that a small team of us put together with sweat and pennies. I edited the entire film, and was the cinematographer for the first 3.5 minutes and a couple other scenes. (The whole film is about 14 minutes long, not counting the credits.) I started editing "Rendezvous" with VideoStudio x8, then switched to Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve when VideoStudio started crashing when I added scenes shot with my Panasonic camera -- that's the first 3.5 minutes and a couple other scenes. I finished the edit with Resolve, but about half the film was edited and rendered out in VideoStudio.
"Rendezvous" is now piling on the awards. It won the Gold Award (first place) for "Best Narrative Short" at the International Independent Film Awards, in addition to also getting the Gold Award in that category for Leading Actress, Supporting Actor, Director and Production Design. For the Silver Award (second place), it won for Cinematography (I'm the co-cinematographer), Editing (I'm the editor), Casting, Original Score, Sound Design and Soundtrack.
You can see all the awards "Rendezvous" has earned so far on the film's IMDb page at: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3500138/aw ... Wg6oJKEDU0
As I said, "Rendezvous" is a thriller and it is targeted at adults, but it has no rough language, nudity or gore. You could watch it with your grandma and not be embarrassed. Here's a link to the film on YouTube: https://youtu.be/zxZSVromQmo
