I'm a new user of VideoStudio 2020 Ultimate. I would like to stabilize a hand-held video shot in 4K, then export an HD-sized crop. I can apply the Mercali 4.0 filter to get a pretty good stabilization (took me a while to figure out the settings). However, when I then try to use the animated Pan & Zoom tool to crop out the HD portion, the video clip it uses is the unstabilized original.
Am I missing a step? ( I did check the "enable ripple editing" button but that had no effect.)
Is there a better way to do this?
Would it be possible to use Track Motion to create a tracking path and then attach a Pan & Zoom window to it?
I'd hate to have to export the stabilized 4k video, then import it again just to Pan & Zoom the HD crop I want.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: 4k Stabilize then Pan & Zoom to export HD Crop
Hi Norman
And welcome to the forums
Can I assume you used Mercalli to stabilize the video
Mercalli is quite particular to what can be done to the video, with additional edits requiring Mercalli to analyse again, a bit of a pain.
I would apply Mercalli, then render the video to a new file using the same properties as the original.
Then you can apply other edits without upsetting Mercalli
Your best option is to start a new project, add the one video, apply Mercalli, then Share – Same as first clip- option top left
A thumbnail will be placed in the library
Now import your new video to your existing project.
You could try first applying Pan & Zoom, then use Mercalli
But the best way for me would be to export / render the video to embed Mercalli otherwise you run the risk of having to analyse again

Thank you for your prompt reply. I had that as an interim solution, I just wanted to check that I wasn't missing anything.
