Re: Remove Lens flare in X10
Can you clarify what you means by 'lens flare'? a picture or short clip?
Might you have been panning the camcorder across a scene and accidentally got it pointed at the sun briefly?

Re: Remove Lens flare in X10
AFAIK, there isn't any way to do process the flare using options in VS. But you may be able to remove it, or mask it out if it's only occurring on one side of the image (top/bottom/either side).
Remove it.
This is essentially cutting the parts of the clip containing the flare out. Select the clip and make cuts in the clip on either side of the flare, or if its at one end, at the point where the flare starts or ends. Select the clip part that has the flare, and delete it. If the flare part was in the middle, use a cross-fade transition to link the remaining clip parts.
Mask it.
This masks the flare area of the clip out of the clip visual image. Select the clip, then Fx, and apply the cropping filter (select the filter and drag it onto the clip). With the clip selected, choose options, attribute pane and then customise filter. When the filter panel appears, un-tick the 'fill colour' box, and then use the width and height percent choices to set the dotted boundary of the cropping area. Use the mouse to click on the cross hair and move it to a place which optimises the cropped area which does not include the flare. Select the keyframe you do this on (usually, the LH end or starting diamond) and rt-click it and click on 'copy and paste to all'. Play it to see the effect in the RH pane, and adjust the settings to suit. Click OK to return to VS, play the clip on project mode to assess the result.
