Can't find an answer to this one so ..... how do I fix an overlay video in position such that if I make edits that move the clip on the main video track, the overlay moves with it and stays in the same relative position ?
At the moment, if I do something simple like add transitions to the main video track, any overlay falls out of sync with where it was before and has to be manually moved back into position ..... which is a real pain !

You need t enable "Ripple Editing" -- click on the paper clip at the very left end of the video track - this will highlight the paper clips on the end of all other tracks - click on the ones you want to lock to the top track
