I have a project made up of relatively short clips of around 30 seconds - all proxy files - and I'm using a simple transition between clips. Visually the transitions work fine but they are doing strange things to the audio in so much as the clip they lead into comes in at normal audio for a split second then plunges to virtual silence and then climbs back to normal audio levels.
These audio level changes all happen in the space of about three seconds but is messes up the project when listening to it in full.
Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it ? Is it because they are proxy files and will be fine after the final rendering ?

Re: Audio Distortion when using Transitions
Hi Paul
Sorry you are having problems
Unfortunately there does appear to be a problem with audio levels over transitions
If you switch to Sound Mixer the timeline will show the audio wave form and the levels over the transition
Where it should be a cross fade shows as a single fade out, at least that’s what I see.
There is another anomaly that if you trim the end of your clip, then apply fade-in, the fade will run the entire length of the clip instead of the couple of seconds, this has been reported this to Corel, but I urge you to do the same and report to Corel Support.
As a workround
Go to preferences (F6)
Edit Tab – Audio – deselect Apply Audio Cross Fade automatically
Now after adding the transition you have to manually add a fade-out and fade-in, creating the x-fade
Seems to fix the above problems?

Re: Audio Distortion when using Transitions
Thanks Trevor.
I did try an audio fade in after the transition in the hope that might fix it and - like you say - it faded in over the full length of the clip !!!
