"is not allow be installed ... due to version conflict"

Post by Darklocq »

I seem to have broken my installation to such an extent it cannot be uninstalled or reinstalled, and did this simply be re-running the installer in "repair" mode. So, the installer has a serious bug or two or ten.

No matter what I do now, I get the following "Engrish" error message: "The PaintShop Pro version is not allow be installed into current system due to version conflict, the installation will be terminated right now".

I have tried deleting the entire Program Files folder of Corel, and removing every single mention of Corel from the Windows Registry, and restarting, and this is still happening. So it seems to either have some corrupted hidden files somewhere, or some bad Registry entries that don't mention Corel. Me is not allow be use PaintShop into current system due to Corel self-conflict, installation will break right now. LOL.

Yeah, that worked, though it's not something most people would ever know existed, and this shouldn't've happened in the first place. The entire point of "repair" mode is to do a clean install, not to destroy the install so badly that the uninstaller then craps all over itself. I don't think I've ever encountered anything like this, in 30+ years of using software installers/uninstallers.
