I installed Video Studio Ultimate 2020 after using VSU 2019.
I started a new video project. The program seemed to work fine for a while. Now when I load my project and try to perform a function in Video Studio it freezes and shuts down. This happens with what ever function you try to use, Color correction, video stabilization using proDAD, adding a title etc.
Does anyone have any insight into this problem? HELP!!!

This can happen often and is an old bug compounded by the developers not fixing issues and just building new features on top of them. The primary reason for most auto crashes come from incompatible project size vs the imported media. If your source video is 720p and you're upsizing to 1080p then get ready for hell. The newer core processes no longer handle that as well as older versions and it will just shut the app down without warning. But this could go for any size difference (eg. a placed graphic, an animation, a frame, etc). To help alleviate I try to ensure that all project elements are the same size format.
Just a few minutes ago I edited an old home video for Facebook and wanted to extend a title sequence and re-render. When I opened the file, which contained a 720p video, and tried to render the app kept crashing. Fkn pissed. I just created the project and it is less than 3 min with the most basic of content and structure. The solution that worked (this time) was to open the project, create a Smart Package and then open the newly saved project file in that package folder.
