Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
Hey, Videostudio 2020 won't allow me to change the volum to any of the audio in the timeline...
I can change the actual number of the volume, but the audio still comes out at 100%. Audio ducking does help somewhat, but I can never have a consistant lower volume on anything.
Is this an actual glitch? Can I reset/turn to default any audio options Videostudio has?
Thank you!

I have the Ultimate version, which one do you have?
I can keyframe the audio by selecting the Sound Mixer.

Re: Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
The effect on clips in the timeline will only be apparent if you play back in "project" mode - is that what you are doing ?

I'm having exactly the same issue. I am able to change the actual number of volume, but it makes no difference though. I even put 0 and the audio was still audible...

Re: Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
I'm along the sort of same lines here as well.
I'm editing a video with separate audio recorded - I edited the audio in Audacity which all is fine.
When I enter the audio track in the program and along with the video, right at the start of the track there seems to be allot of noise right at the very start, I'm wondering if there is an issue with the "fade in" effect???

Re: Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
No problem here.
Tested in three different ways.
1. Add clip to timeline, rightclick and Open Options Panel, change Volume from 100 to 0, audio is muted.
Reset volume to 100
2. Rightclick clip on TL and > Audio > Adjust Volume > adjust volume from 100 to 10 > volume is adjusted accordingly.
3. Drag mp3 music clip to TL, rightclick and choose Adjust volume > change volume from 100 to say 20 > volume is adjusted accordingly.

Re: Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
OK, I now have a recipe that shows the problem.
1. Drag a clip to TL. I used a UHD mp4 clip.
2. Rightclick clip and choose Audio > Split Audio
3. Rightclick audio clip and choose Adjust Volume...
4. Change volume to 10 and click OK
5. Play clip and see (hear) it still plays with full volume.

Re: Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
The reason why I said it worked for me is because it was a single clip. And it did. But cutting the clip up into smaller pieces, no matter what, the sound volume would not change no matter the sound volume settings or keyframes.
A more complete description of the problem would have helped initially giving the workflow that produced the issue. Makes diagnosing the problem much easier.....

Re: Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
I had this issue for some time until I worked out that my audio software - Sound Blaster Audigy FX - was over-riding and normalizing the volume via the "Smart volume" setting.
When I switched off "Smart Volume", I could hear all of the volume changes in VS.

Re: Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
Smart Volume? Where is that located?
I am now getting mixed results. I have two clips on the timeline. I first edit the volume of the first clip with the Sound Mixer. It works. I split the clip. It still works. I add another clip, I can keyframe the audio but it doesn't work. Then it does work, I don't know any more....
I place two clips on the Video track. I split each one so now I have 6 clips. Now, I can only keyframe in 2 of the 6 clips.
For me on my computer, the feature is broken.

I suspect he may be talking about a Sound Blaster control...TonyP wrote:Smart Volume? Where is that located?

Re: Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
Hi
Just ran a quick test
1 / add a video to the top track
2 / set audio level to 10%, play to check level as ok
3 / cut clip, now have two clips both show 10%
4 / first clip plays at full volume, second plays at 10%
That has to be wrong
We do now know of other audio issues when adding transitions or fade into a trimmed clip
I would ask that you report your findings to Corel Support

Re: Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
Yes sorry, that is an option in Sound Blaster.TonyP wrote:Smart Volume? Where is that located?
A lot of audio software includes settings that will manipulate what you hear in terms of volume and will normailze that volume if you click certain options. I had a "Smart Volume" setting ticked that resulted in Videostudio volume changes appearing to do nothing when in fact the VS volume drops were being countered by the soundcard to suggest nothing was happening !
Not suggesting that is your problem ..... just throwing it out there as it WAS my problem and may help somebody somewhere !
Re: Videostudio 2020 Audio Issue
Hello, is one of the issues not being able to add any audio level keyframes to a trimmed video track? Because it is what happens to me.lata wrote: We do now know of other audio issues when adding transitions or fade into a trimmed clip

Is here a fix to that? Re-installing maybe? Thank you!
