magic wand PSP 20

Using the magic wand instructions what does it mean when it says to (click the image area that contains the pixels you want to match) ?
I cannot get the image surrounded with the dotted line. I can do it freehand.

What Match Mode have you selected for the Magic Wand in the Tool Options palette? If you aren't conversant with what the Match Mode options are all about then type Magic Want into the Help files search field to learn how that tool works.
