Trouble editing in Video Studio Ultimate 2019
I upgraded from Video Studio Pro X8 a while back ( popup ad which I gave in to ) to Video Studio 2019 Ultimate, and every video file I import to edit has a stuttering effect and I can't do anything with it. I never had any problems with the previous version and wanted to get this one to take advantage of color rendering and getting 2 split videos in a single frame, but so far I can't even get past the first step. Would anyone know what the problem may be? I'm ready to give up on this upgrade and may have to accept going back to the older version just to get some kind of video done.

Have you made proxy files from your video clips? If you are trying to work with full-resolution video clips, your computer may not have enough power to display them without stuttering. VideoStudio makes it pretty easy to create proxy files (called "Smart Proxy" by VideoStudio), which makes editing a lot smoother. I can't say for sure that is what your situation is, but I suggest you try making Smart Proxy files and see how that goes.

Re: Trouble editing in Video Studio Ultimate 2019
Smart proxy didn't work, a tiny bit better but it still looks like a stuttering slow motion. Also, when I've dragged a video clip to the storyboard, if I want to delete it I get a horizontal line going through the middle. Clip still shows with that line and doesn't disappear. I've pretty much given up on this version as I find it useless so far - and reading all the problems other people have had with it, it just seems like a buggy failure of a software. Back to Video Pro X8 which has always worked flawlessly for me. But I'll miss working with the extra features which is why I upgraded - a shame, and shame on them for not fixing this before releasing it. Things like this will have people looking elsewhere for something that really works.
